At Our Lady of Wisdom University Parish we work to invite the 38,000 students of Texas State University to come meet the Lord Jesus Christ in his One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. Our desire is that each student will encounter the Lord in his infinite love for them as sons and daughters through our community where we are passionate about the mission of Jesus Christ to “go and make disciples of all nations.”1
As a holy family of faith we are greatly encouraged by the passion, talents, and zeal of our students. Through the mission of Jesus Christ at Our Lady of Wisdom we are answering Pope Francis’ challenge that our parishes become communities “permanently in a state of mission” whose members are missionary disciples filled with evangelical joy! 2
Our hope is that by making known the wisdom of Christ on campus through the spiritual, intellectual, and social development of the Texas State community, a lifelong love of Jesus Christ and his Church will be fostered in the hearts of our young adults and they will become Spirit-filled evangelizers. For many of our students this has become a reality! Numerous Bobcat Catholic students have entered into holy marriages, have become priests, religious brothers or sisters, deacons, missionaries, professional lay ministers, holy men and women working in the world, and parishioners serving in your parishes.
I invite each of you to become a part of the wisdom of Christ at work on the campus of Texas State University by becoming a part of our Bobcat Catholic Legacy which makes our mission possible.
